ITINERARY
05:30 – Departure from Antananarivo: Early morning pick-up from your hotel in Antananarivo and departure towards Andasibe along the RN2. The journey takes approximately 3.5–4 hours, passing through the changing landscapes of the Malagasy highlands and eastern rainforest.
09:00 – Visit of Peyrieras Reserve: Stop at Réserve Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic in Marozevo. Explore the reserve with a local guide and discover Madagascar’s fascinating reptiles and amphibians, including chameleons, frogs, geckos and other endemic species. This visit provides a great introduction to the wildlife of eastern Madagascar before continuing towards Andasibe.
10:15 – Continue to Andasibe: After the visit, continue the drive along the RN2 towards Andasibe. Enjoy the increasingly lush scenery as you approach the eastern rainforest.
11:00 – Lunch in Andasibe: Stop for lunch at a local restaurant and take a short break before the afternoon forest exploration.
12:00 – Analamazaotra Special Reserve: Begin a guided walk in Réserve spéciale d’Analamazaotra. Follow the rainforest trails in search of the indri-indri, Madagascar’s largest living lemur, famous for its distinctive calls. You may also encounter other lemurs, birds, chameleons, frogs and endemic plants along the trails. The reserve is particularly known for its indri population and rich biodiversity.
14:30 – Return towards Antananarivo: After the rainforest visit, begin the drive back to the capital. Enjoy the scenery along the RN2 and make a short comfort stop along the way if needed.
18:30–19:30 – Arrival in Antananarivo: Drop-off at your hotel, marking the end of your full-day Andasibe wildlife adventure.
