The latest information about Coronavirus in Madagascar

The Government of Madagascar (GOM) revised eligibility criteria for the AstraZeneca/Covishield COVID-19 vaccine that was allocated to the country through the COVAX initiative. Individuals 18 and over are now eligible to be vaccinated. However, Madagascar is awaiting additional supplies and currently is not running vaccination clinics. Johnson & Johnson vaccines are expected to arrive on July 27. These vaccines will be targeted at those who did not receive the first dose of COVISHIELD. The second shipment of COVISHIELD vaccines is expected to arrive in early August. Please contact the Ministry of Health for more information.
